Food

While lunch and tea will be provided at the conference, the area around the University of Sydney has much to offer in terms of food. For coffee, cakes, cakes and sandwiches on campus, Taste Baguette in the law building is a favourite of law students and coffee snobs alike. Students in need of a beer and pub lunch should pay a visit to Manning Bar.

Outside the University the new Central Park development houses popular chains such as ramen shop Ippudo, Taiwanese dumplings at Din Tai Fung, and chocolate café, Max Brenner. Further towards Central Station, the open air food court Spice Alley offers an array of South East Asian street food from Malaysian roti to Singaporean noodles.

For cheap and cheerful (and vegetarian-friendly) fare on King St, Newtown we recommend Rowda Ya Habibi for Middle Eastern food, and Mary’s Newtown for excellent burgers, grunge decor, and loud rock music. For more high end options try trendy wine bars Black Sheep and Bloodwood. To really make a night of it stop by cocktail bars Corridor or Kuleto’s (try the Toblerone).
